Customer Rating: Summary: Sadly disappointed! Comment: I am sorry to say that along with others, I have to agree and say this was by far the worst book in the series. I have read every single book in the series and I was so excited to read the latest in the series only to be majorly disappointed. The passion, excitement, and intensity went out the window in this book and although I read it quickly I was constantly waiting for something to happen. Eric and Sookie barely saw each other and the one or two times they did see each other Harris skimmed over it. I thought the ending was boring and didn't really leave anything to look forward to. I will read the next book but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be better than this one.
Customer Rating: Summary: 6 hours gone that i can never get back Comment: Was the publisher really pushing you that hard to get the next book in print, Ms. Harris? Would have been better to wait. Total waste of time and money. I kept waiting for something to happen and it never did. my time is too important to me so I'll be saying goodbye to the Sookie series.
Customer Rating: Summary: Plot please?! Comment: How embarrassing...Ms. Harris forgot to put a plot in this latest Southern Vampire Series book! I adore all the Sookie books (Book 3, 4 and 8 are my favorites!), but I wanted to cry after reading Dead in the Family. The book was not worth the wait. Nothing, I mean nothing, happens until the last 50 pages! I kept closing the book to stare at the cover to make sure I truly bought a Charlaine Harris book. Despite my disappointment, I still love the author and will read the next book in the series.
Customer Rating: Summary: Sadly disappointed Comment: I ordered all her books after reading the first one and went through them in a week. I even let my teenagers read most of them but I can't let them read this one. I drove my husband crazy waiting for the kindle version to come out. I even got HBO so we could watch the show. It's no where close to the books but what do you expect from HBO. I use to say that I wished they were alike but I didn't mean that Ms Harris should cross over to the "darkside". I don't know if I will even bother with the next book.
Customer Rating: Summary: vamps face their makers... Comment: Sookie is healing from the fairy and vampire war that happened to her and friends.
Alcide asks her if they can have the pack night on her property, but when they are leaving one of the members tell her that their have been strange smells of fairies on her land. All the fairies except a few are back in thier land.
Sookie also tries to help bill out with his silver sickness and finds a "sister " vampire of the same bloodline to help with the healing.
Eric finds himself in trouble with his Maker coming to visit with another young, but mentally disturbed vampire.
A good book and leads up to more interesting conclusions for a later tome.

The #1 New York Times bestselling Sookie Stackhouse series- the basis for HBO(r)'s True Blood-continues!
After enduring torture and the loss of loved ones during the brief but deadly Faery War, Sookie Stackhouse is hurt and she's angry. Just about the only bright spot in her life is the love she thinks she feels for vampire Eric Northman. But he's under scrutiny by the new Vampire King because of their relationship. And as the political implications of the Shifters coming out are beginning to be felt, Sookie's connection to the Shreveport pack draws her into the debate. Worst of all, though the door to Faery has been closed, there are still some Fae on the human side-and one of them is angry at Sookie. Very, very angry...
